The Marching Cavaliers completed their first competition of the year at Logan Elm High School, last Saturday. Their show “Ghosts” was performed in front of a crowd made up of local spectators and band enthusiasts from around the state.
“The kids performed one of their best reps of the show,” said Director Michelle Carpenter.

CHS placed third in Class A with an overall score of 3 (1 being a ‘superior’ and 5 being a ‘poor’ score), according to the Ohio Music Education Association.
In fact, the CHS drumline earned a 2 after receiving the only 1 score from an individual judge.
Schools who earned a 1 overall and qualified for state competition include: Logan Elm, Lakota East, Westland, and Middletown.
The Marching Band will travel to Portsmouth West on September 23rd to compete a second time to try and qualify for state.
“Our goal for the future is to improve our scores and take our show to the next level,” Carpenter said.
